Duvet installation |
| If you purchased an optional duvet, it would be installed after the safety liner and heater. The traditional safety liner protects the outside of the duvet and adds an additional layer of safety. Be sure that the manufacturers label on the duvet is at the foot of the bed. Unfold the duvet and lay it out similar to the way the safety liner was laid out. | ![]() |
| Unzip the duvet on both sides and lay it over the head of the bed. This allows easy access for installing the waterbed mattress(s). Smooth out the inside of the duvet.
Take care with the zippers, too much stress and they will pull apart possibly causing damage. |

| Unfold and unroll the mattress into the cavity of the duvet or liner. Be sure the fill valve is located at the foot of the bed. | ![]() |
| Pull the corners of the mattress into each corner. Smooth the mattress out as much as possible before filling. If this is not done properly it will be difficult to straighten when full of water.
Apply MaxiClean Mattress Cleaner and Protectant to keep the vinyl soft and supple. |

| Pull the fill tube up by the two handles on the cap and unscrew it. Remove the stopper. Attach the fill attachment to the hose and screw it into the mattress. Fill until the mattress is approximately 75% filled.
Burp the mattress. Start at the head corners pushing down and smoothing the mattress so that you chase the air bubbles towards the fill spout |

| Open your Multi-Purpose Water Conditioner and pour into the mattress. Continue filling until the mattress is about level with the top of the frame.
Check for the correct level by sitting on the edge of the bed. The correct height is when your about 1" from bottoming out. You can gauge this by rocking back and forth, you will only touch light when rocking. When your bed is filled this way you are much less apt to have heater problems. The #1 cause of heater problems is bottoming out with knees or elbows. This happens when you enter and exit the bed |

| Finished: Zip up the duvet and your ready to put your linens on your new waterbed. Plug your heater in and turn it on to 86 degrees. If you filled your bed using warm water, it should be ready to sleep on. | ![]() |
